Why Zero Waste

Who Are We?

We are parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts in Seattle and the Puget Sound who are deeply concerned about the impact climate change will have on the future of our children.

We are acting either at our individual level or collectively at the local, state or national level to protect the rights of our children to live on a thriving planet.

What Do We Stand For?

We stand with our kids and the younger generation and with scientists who rightly urge for immediate actions against climate change.

In a World already 1° Celsius warmer compared to pre-industrial level, we demand urgent climate policies and actions to prevent an increase in global temperatures above 1.5° Celsius (2,7°F).

We want global emissions to be cut by at least half by 2030 and eliminated to ZERO by 2050 at the latest.

What Do We Do?

Parents For Future Seattle aims at supporting every parent, grandparent or adult every steps of the way on the journey towards a clean, just and safe future for all of us. How do we intend to do that?

WE TALK: we discuss Climate Change with our friends, families, neighbors. We communicate, tweet, share about climate change and its impact to keep it on top of the agenda.

WE EDUCATE: we help you find the ressources you are looking for about climate change, its impacts and how we can solve it. Check our #ClimateFacts and #ActNOWFORFuture sections

WE SUPPORT: Young people have raised awareness around Climate Change to unprecedented levels. In our #ClimateStrike tab learn about the leadership taken by our children and how we can support them.

WE ACT: Because we are the ones with the power to make changes happen, in our #ActNOWForFuture tab you will find ressources to do just that :

Ideas on how to reduce your own carbon emissions
Information about Seattle groups acting against climate change (from planting tree or lobbying for climate actions to embarking into zero waste lifestyle and more)

Depending on what our members want to engage on, we also launch our own actions. "#GiftMeATree for my Birthday" is our first campaign! Check it out and learn why birthdays matter, one tree at a time!
